Completed in 2001, this 1,550,000 sf. residential building was developed by The Applied Companies and Vornado Realty Trust. The building’s design had the challenge of needing to integrate the residential complex with an unfinished garage structure that stood on the site from the 1980’s. The L-shaped building design, incorporated the structure, by building on the two exposed sides of the pre-existing garage 80 apartments topped with 22 duplex townhouses. The townhouses open onto a 1.4 acre landscaped plaza built over the garage roof. At the one end of the L-shaped configuration, a 29-story tower with 438 apartments was erected over additional parking bringing the total height to 41 stories.
